Direct Sales Jobs Like Pure Romance are Recession Proof

USA Today just did an article talking about how direct sales jobs are helping many people through difficult times. (http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/retail/2009-05-13-direct-sales-jobs-recession-unemployment_N.htm) I can personally attest to that fact. I began doing Pure Romance to help out with our own family's finances because I was tired of worrying about every little thing that came up unexpectedly. When you have kids, things WILL come up. We had just bought a home because we'd also just had a new baby 9 months before and we desparately needed more room. We also have two teenagers, one of whom needed braces and the other was almost driving at that time. Pure Romance has saved us on more than one occassion from being in a real financial bind. And the best thing is that no matter what happens with the economy or my full-time job, I have Pure Romance as my net.

So why Pure Romance versus the other companies out there? Here are my personal reasons:

1. I believe in the products. I could not possibly encourage someone to buy a product that I did not believe was a quality product. And a lot of people don't realize what high quality beauty products we sell, not just bedroom accessories. I absolutely love our line of massage and moisturizing products. And the products are more budget-friendly than a lot of other brands.

2. I believe in the company. I don't know how many people can work in this industry and say that they've personally met and casually visited with the owner and founder of their business. Not only that, but that they completely respect them and what they've built. Patty Brisben, her family, the people working in the corporate office, my fellow consultants - it's like a second family. It is unlike anything I've experienced in the corporate world.

3. I love how Pure Romance is about educating and empowering women. Don't get me wrong, we do a fun, classy party - but when that party is over, did you learn anything? Did you get at least one thing from it that will help you know yourself better and/or your partner better? We joke around a lot at parties, play games and do a great deal of laughing, but we also do a lot of teaching both during the party and privately afterwards.

There are a number of stores out there where you can buy adult products, yes, but they can be embarrassing and overwhelming. Having them brought to your home and their benefits and how to use them explained to you in a comfortable atmosphere goes a long way towards reaching out to women who may never have considered going into a store.

There isn't any make-up, cooking tool or bowl that is going to help a marriage. There are a hundred stores I can buy some version of those products in too - sometimes even cheaper online. What we offer is unique and the way we do it is what sets us apart from others like us.
